1. Chief Director: Provincial Secretariat (5-Year Contract)

  • Location: Mbombela
  • Salary: R1,494,900 per annum

Key Requirements:

  • A recognised Bachelor’s Degree (NQF 7) in Public Administration, Public Management, Social Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in senior management, ideally in a civilian oversight environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of public service strategy, the South African Police Act, and related regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide oversight in policing across Mpumalanga Province.
  • Conduct evidence-based research into policing matters.
  • Coordinate social crime prevention strategies and foster partnerships to fight crime.

2. Director: Provincial Police Oversight

  • Location: Mbombela
  • Salary: R1,266,714 per annum
  • Ref No: DCSSL/D/PPO/M/2025

Key Requirements:

  • A recognised Bachelor’s Degree (NQF 7) with at least 5 years of experience at middle management level.
  • Proven leadership, management skills, and a working knowledge of the Public Sector Regulatory Framework.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the monitoring and evaluation of the South African Police Service (SAPS).
  • Oversee the implementation of policies and manage complaints against the police.

3. Director: Partnership

  • Location: Mbombela
  • Salary: R1,266,714 per annum
  • Ref No: DCSSL/D/PO/M/2025

Key Requirements:

  • A recognised Bachelor’s Degree (NQF 7) or equivalent, with 5 years of experience in middle management.
  • Understanding of stakeholder management and government policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage stakeholder databases to support crime prevention initiatives.
  • Promote community-police relations and coordinate provincial policies related to civilian oversight.

4. Director: Management Accounting

  • Location: Mbombela
  • Salary: R1,266,714 per annum
  • Ref No: DCSSL/D/MA/M/2025

Key Requirements:

  • A recognised Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Management Accounting (NQF 7).
  • At least 5 years’ experience in middle management with a strong understanding of public sector financial management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the budget preparation and financial reporting process for the department.
  • Provide financial advice and support to various stakeholders.

5. Director: Revenue Management

  • Location: Mbombela
  • Salary: R1,266,714 per annum
  • Ref No: DCSSL/D/RM/M/2025

Key Requirements:

  • A recognised Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Auditing (NQF 7).
  • 5 years’ relevant experience at a middle management level.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and optimise revenue generation strategies.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of revenue management systems.

6. Deputy Director: Functional Services

  • Location: Mbombela
  • Salary: R896,436 per annum
  • Ref No: DCSSL/DD/FS/M/2025

Key Requirements:

  • A recognised Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Public Administration or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of experience at junior management level in a similar field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage transport law administration and compliance inspections across various centres.
  • Oversee the processing of abnormal load permit applications in the province.
