Teach The Nation (TTN) is a leadership development fellowship that recruits novice educators from disadvantaged schools and equips them with the skills, mentorship, and networks they need to become agents of change in their schools and communities.

The TTN Teacher Internships focus on:

  • Conscious Leadership (CL): Developing self-awareness, resilience, and strong leadership capabilities.
  • High Impact Teaching Strategies (HITS): Equipping teachers with practical, proven classroom strategies to improve learner performance.
  • Community Engagement: Encouraging teachers to initiate and lead projects that uplift their schools and communities.

Unlike traditional internships, this is a two-year leadership development programme that offers continuous coaching, professional development, and alumni networking opportunities.

Requirements

To qualify for the Teach The Nation (TTN) Teacher Internships, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Currently employed as an educator in an under-resourced Primary or High School.
  • 1–3 years teaching experience.
  • Based in Western Cape, Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, or Limpopo.
  • Aged between 22 and 35 years old.
  • Qualified to teach in Foundation, Intermediate, Senior, or FET phases.
  • Able to teach subjects in:
    • STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths)
    • Languages (Home & First Additional)
    • IT, Coding, and Robotics
  • South African citizen (SACE registered or with proof of application).
