Internship Overview

The HR Intern will join the FADT – Western Cape team and assist with daily operations in the Human Resources department. The intern’s contribution will be vital in ensuring smooth administrative functions, supporting recruitment drives, organizing staff events, and enhancing employee wellness initiatives.

Responsibilities of the HR Intern

The intern will handle a broad range of tasks under the supervision of experienced HR professionals. Some of the key responsibilities include:

  • Updating internal databases with new employee details and employment records.
  • Preparing various HR-related reports and documentation.
  • Assisting in the planning and execution of company events and career days.
  • Supporting recruitment and onboarding activities for new staff.
  • Collaborating with other departments to support overall HR objectives.
  • Maintaining organized HR files and systems.
  • Participating in the annual BBB-EE audit process.
  • Helping to implement organizational development and wellness programs.
  • Supporting ad hoc projects initiated by the HR Manager and Transformation Executive.
  • Receiving and directing HR-related inquiries to the appropriate team members.

Who Can Apply?

To qualify for this internship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • A minimum qualification of N6 or a completed Diploma/Degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, or a closely related field.
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well in teams while managing individual assignments effectively.
  • A keen eye for detail and strong organizational abilities.
  • Knowledge of South African labour laws including BCEA, LRA, EEA, SDA, and BBB-EE.
