The South African Forestry Company Limited (SAFCOL) is offering a valuable opportunity for young, driven South Africans to gain hands-on experience and a formal qualification in the forestry industry
What the Programme Offers
The SAFCOL Learnership Programme 2026 in Mechanised Harvesting is a 10-month structured learning experience that combines theoretical classroom training with field-based practical work.
You will gain essential skills that can launch your career or help you start your own Small, Micro and Medium Enterprise (SMME) within the forestry sector.
Learners will receive:
- Accredited theoretical training in Forestry at NQF Level 3
- Practical experience in mechanised harvesting operations
- Exposure to SAFCOL’s modern forestry operations
- A monthly stipend during the learnership period
Upon completion, successful learners will receive a Mechanised Harvesting (NQF Level 3) Certificate – a nationally recognised qualification that opens real employment pathways in the forestry industry.

Minimum Entry Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be a South African citizen
- Be unemployed and aged between 18 and 35
- Have passed Matric (Grade 12)
- Be passionate about forestry and willing to work outdoors

Location
Successful candidates will attend the programme at the SAFCOL Training Centre (Platorand), located in Sabie, Mpumalanga Province.
