The Role: Video Producer for Woolworths TASTE

The role of Video Producer is a full-time position based at Media24’s Cape Town studios and offices. This is a hands-on, highly creative position responsible for overseeing the entire video production process — from initial concept to final delivery. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food content and a strong track record producing video for social media.

The Video Producer will work closely with the heads of content and digital content to plan and produce a high volume of videos tailored to Woolworths’ brand values and the expectations of the TASTE audience. This involves scheduling monthly editorial shoots, briefing influencers and video hosts, managing shoots, and overseeing post-production.

Attention to detail is crucial, especially in maintaining the highest standard of videography and editing that aligns with Woolworths’ premium brand positioning. The Video Producer will also play an important role in keeping the team updated on social media trends, platform algorithm changes, and food content innovations to maximize the performance of the videos produced.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with content leadership to plan monthly video content across all TASTE channels aligned with client priorities.
  • Manage the full production workflow, including scheduling shoots, briefing hosts and influencers, and providing creative direction on set.
  • Work with videographers, food stylists, and photographers to ensure shoots run smoothly and on schedule.
  • Create and adjust scripts as needed, especially for recipe content, ensuring accuracy on camera.
  • Oversee editing briefs and internal review processes, incorporating feedback from senior content heads.
  • Deliver final video assets to the client and online editors, managing any external revisions.
  • Stay informed on social media video trends, platform updates, and new content formats relevant to food and lifestyle.

Required Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate for the Video Producer role will bring at least three years of experience in video production or direction, with a minimum of one year focused on food content creation. A strong portfolio showcasing high-volume, high-quality video content for social media platforms is essential.

Candidates should have a good understanding of video production equipment and techniques, especially those related to food styling and lighting. Experience with video editing tools such as CapCut and knowledge of video approval platforms like Wipster will be advantageous.

Strong communication skills are a must, as the role requires working closely with a variety of stakeholders including influencers, chefs, hosts, stylists, and the internal team. The ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining creative problem-solving abilities is also critical.
