Key Responsibilities
As a Data Engineer, your role will be to create advanced reporting solutions and ensure seamless data integration. Below are some of the responsibilities you’ll undertake:
SAP BW Object Development
- Designing, developing, and testing SAP BW objects like data sources, Advanced DSOs, Composite Providers, and queries.
- Utilizing the LSA methodology for SAP BW system modeling.
Business Intelligence Solutions
- Creating end-to-end BI solutions for data extraction from multiple systems.
- Developing HANA Calculation Views and integrating them with SAP BW.
- Building proof-of-concept prototypes with fast iteration and experimentation.
Data Integration and Maintenance
- Working on integration projects involving internal systems and cloud platforms.
- Supporting existing data warehouse process chains and associated models.
- Coordinating regular maintenance routines like service pack upgrades and site switches.
Collaboration and Support
- Partnering with business customers, analysts, and team members to align solutions with business requirements.
- Maintaining design documentation, test cases, and performance monitoring tools.
Skills and Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data & Analytics Management, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of experience with SAP Business Warehouse (BW).
Technical Expertise:
- Proficiency in data modeling, particularly with the BW/4HANA concept.
- Hands-on experience in SAP BW modeling, report design, and extraction processes.
- Knowledge of ABAP coding, including Badi enhancements and custom variables.
- Understanding of SAP modules like Finance, Supply Chain, and Plant Maintenance.
