The meeting place for South Africa’s job seekers and employers
Nasi Ispani is a free jobs platform built for a phone, and it is a matchmaking hub. Job seekers build a real CV here, find real jobs, learnerships, internships and bursaries, and can be found by employers who have been checked. Employers post a vacancy free, see who applied in one place, and search for the people they need by skill, town and experience. Both sides meet in the middle, and our tools do the matching.
Nasi Ispani in 99 seconds: real jobs, a free CV, and employers who can find you.
The problem we are solving
About one in three South Africans who want to work cannot find it, and among young people it is closer to one in two. Most of the jobs that exist for them are everyday jobs: cleaners, packers, cashiers, drivers, security officers, kitchen staff, general workers, sales agents who work on commission, carers, and the thousands of roles a small business fills every month. Those jobs are real, they are everywhere, and they are almost never advertised anywhere a job seeker can find them.
The big job portals were built for a different market. They serve professionals well: accountants, engineers, managers, developers. A person looking for work in a warehouse, a shop or a home is not who they were built for, and a small employer hiring one cleaner or two packers cannot afford an agency and will not pay a listing fee to find out whether anyone applies. So the job goes by word of mouth, the job seeker never hears about it, and both sides lose.
Looking for work also costs money when you have none. A typed CV at an internet cafe costs R50 to R150, every time it changes. Data is expensive. Fake adverts and agents charge upfront fees. And most first-time job seekers send application after application and never hear back from anyone. Nasi Ispani exists to take all of that away.
Who Nasi Ispani is for
Everyone who is looking for honest work, and everyone who is hiring. We started with the everyday jobs that nobody else covers, and we cover them properly, but the platform is not limited to them. It is just as much for:
- Interns, graduates and first-time job seekers. We have an abundance of young people with a qualification and no first job, and employers looking for interns find them here in numbers.
- Learnerships, internships and bursaries. Employers, colleges and funders publish them here, and our matching puts each one in front of the people who qualify.
- Skilled and professional roles. Administrators, technicians, nurses, teachers, tradespeople and office staff are among the most searched roles on the site.
- Employers of every size. A household hiring one person, a spaza shop, a logistics company, a hospital group or a government department all post the same way and get the same tools.
A matchmaking hub, not a notice board
A notice board publishes a job and hopes the right person walks past. Nasi Ispani works in both directions:
- When an employer posts a vacancy, job seekers whose CV keywords match it are alerted straight away, on their phone.
- When a job seeker applies, the employer sees their skills, experience and qualification in the hub before spending a cent, and can shortlist, screen and reply from one screen.
- When an employer needs someone specific, or needs them quickly, they search job seekers by skill, town and experience and reach out to the people they choose.
- When a job seeker switches on Let employers find me, verified employers can find them, and the job seeker is told who looked.
That is what we mean by matchmaking: the right employer and the right job seeker put in front of each other, with the tools to act on it, at no cost to the job seeker and at a fraction of what an agency charges the employer.
For job seekers
- A professional CV built on your phone in minutes, downloaded as a PDF, yours to keep. Upload an old CV, build it with AI, or fill it in yourself.
- Jobs, learnerships, internships and bursaries from across South Africa, new every day, each one checked by our editors, with the closing date shown and expired adverts taken down.
- Apply in one tap. Your CV goes straight to the employer, and your job tracker keeps every application in one place.
- A cover letter writer, an ATS scanner that checks your CV against the software employers screen with, a salary estimator and a document scanner.
- Free short courses in the Academy, with a certificate for your CV at the end of each one.
- Your privacy: your phone number and email stay hidden until an employer we have checked asks to talk to you, and we tell you who did.
For employers
- Post a vacancy free. It goes live the moment you post it, no waiting for a demo or a sales call.
- Applications land in your hub, not your inbox, with each person’s skills, experience and qualification shown before you pay anything.
- Screening questions filter applicants before you read a CV. Shortlist, move people through stages and reply from one screen.
- Search job seekers by skill, town and experience when waiting for applications is not enough.
- Pay only to contact the people you choose, and never twice for the same person. Verify your business and your first credits are free. See Post a Job for what it costs.
- Bursaries, learnerships and internships are welcome and get the same matching, so the right applicants reach you and the rest do not.
Verified people on both sides
Trust is the thing conventional job platforms cannot give this market, so we built it in. Employers are verified against the Home Affairs record before they can contact anyone, and a verified employer wears the badge on every advert. Job seekers can add their ID number once, so an employer’s check runs in seconds when they ask for it, and that number is encrypted and never shown. Every consent is recorded under POPIA, and the privacy policy says exactly what we hold, who can see it and how to get it removed.
Education and skills, built in
Finding the job is half of it. The Nasi Academy has free short courses in the things employers keep asking for and nobody teaches: phone skills for work, computer basics, work-ready essentials, AI skills for work, office tools, project management, and getting your learner licence. Each course is built for a phone, takes minutes a lesson, uses almost no data, and ends with a certificate you can put on your CV. Nothing you finish there expires.

You need an account for most of these, and an account is free.
What is paid, so you are not surprised
Job seekers pay for one thing only, and it is optional: a set of premium CV designs at R49. The free designs are real designs, not samples, and a CV built on one is yours to download and send. Nobody pays to see a job, to apply, to be shortlisted, or to be found by an employer.
Employers pay us, not you. Posting a vacancy is free. A verified employer can pay to see the contact details of job seekers who have chosen to be found, and those job seekers agreed to that first. See Post a Job for what it costs.
Where the listings come from
Our editors read government portals, official vacancy notices and employer announcements, and write each one up with the closing date, the requirements and the official way to apply. Employers also post directly here. Every post points you to the employer’s own process, and we close a post when it expires so you are not applying into the dark.
When a government post appears here, we say who is advertising it and send you to the official way to apply. We are an independent South African company, not a government programme.
We get things wrong sometimes. If a post has the wrong closing date, the wrong link or details that do not match the official notice, tell us and we will fix it.
Scams, and what we do about them
No real job asks you for money. Not an admin fee, not a fee to be shortlisted, not a payment for a uniform or training before you start, and no employer needs your banking details or your card to interview you. If you see it on a listing here, report it. Reporting costs nothing, you do not need an account, and we take the listing down.
How hiring works here
Employers and recruiters post their vacancies here and search verified candidates, and every hiring decision is theirs. We cannot tell you whether you got the job and we cannot chase an employer for an answer. We never guarantee anyone a job, and if a site promises you one, that is your warning. Your application goes to the employer named in the listing.
