Purpose of the Internship
The Sales & Marketing Internship is designed for individuals who wish to learn and grow within the luxury hospitality industry. This internship will provide you with exposure to both administrative tasks and client-facing duties, offering a broad understanding of what goes into making a top-tier hospitality experience. The role reports directly to the Director of Sales and Marketing, and you will be involved in assisting with the coordination of various initiatives designed to achieve the team’s sales and marketing objectives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Administrative Support
- Provide general administrative support to the Sales & Marketing team, including scheduling, preparing reports, and managing correspondence.
- Assist with various projects, from initial planning through to the final execution, ensuring everything runs smoothly.
- Help with accounting-related tasks such as processing purchase orders and managing invoices.
2. Customer Service Excellence
- Support the team in delivering outstanding customer service and ensuring client satisfaction.
- Work alongside team members to address guest feedback and offer innovative solutions to enhance guest experiences.
- Help coordinate communication with guests to ensure all their requirements are met with precision and care.
3. Event Coordination
- Assist in the planning and execution of hotel events, including conferences, weddings, and social gatherings.
- Work with vendors, suppliers, and other third parties to secure the best options for each event and ensure the smooth running of the occasion.
4. Travel Arrangements and Sales Support
- Coordinate travel arrangements for the team, ensuring smooth logistics for their trips.
- Assist in preparing sales materials and fulfilling ad-hoc sales requests from the department.
5. Learning & Development
- Take responsibility for your own learning and development by participating in training sessions and workshops.
- Actively seek feedback to continuously improve your skills and contribute new ideas to the department based on guest feedback.
6. General Responsibilities
- Maintain the high standards of service, appearance, and professionalism expected of a leading hotel brand.
- Collaborate effectively with all departments to ensure seamless operations.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including safety, security, and emergency protocols.
Qualifications and Skills Required
To succeed in this Sales & Marketing Internship, candidates should have a genuine passion for the hospitality and marketing sectors. The ideal candidate will be organized, self-motivated, and eager to learn.
- A Hotel School or Marketing Diploma/Degree is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, such as Excel and PowerPoint.
