- Telephone Management: Handle all telephone-related tasks professionally, ensuring excellent patient care and stakeholder satisfaction.
- Scheduling and Patient File Management: Prepare, scan, fax, and file patient documents. You will also be responsible for the registration of patients for various programs such as E-auths, MED-E-MASS, and Profdoc.
- Stock and Stationery Management: Ensure operational needs, including stock, stationery, and equipment, are proactively managed and maintained.
2. Financial Administration
The role involves financial responsibilities, including assisting with the collection of consultation fees and ensuring patients are informed about company payment policies. Additionally, you will help coordinate the authorization process and assist with billing when needed.
- Fee Collection & Billing: Assist with collecting consultation fees and assist patients with understanding payment protocols. Ensure accurate billing and assist with improving cash flow.
- Documentation of Financial Records: Maintain clear and accurate documentation of all financial transactions and related expenses.
3. Communication & Coordination
A large part of the Medical Secretary’s job is coordinating communication related to patient care. This involves liaising with internal teams and external stakeholders like doctors, hospitals, and medical assistants.
