Key Responsibilities
As a driver at H Systems, you will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and efficient transportation of goods and materials to various customer sites. Your responsibilities will include operating company vehicles, conducting vehicle inspections, loading and offloading products, and maintaining the highest levels of customer service.
1. Vehicle Maintenance
- Conduct weekly vehicle inspections to ensure vehicles are safe and in good working condition.
- Complete vehicle inspection checklists and report any issues promptly.
- Maintain a clean and presentable vehicle, adhering to company fuel consumption standards.
2. Loading, Driving & Offloading
- Assist in loading and unloading goods onto vehicles as per company specifications.
- Ensure the quality of products loaded, and that the correct stock is loaded as per the invoice.
- Deliver goods safely and on time to customer locations, ensuring proper route planning and record-keeping of deliveries.
- Offload products at customer sites in compliance with client specifications.
- Ensure all delivery documentation, including Proof of Delivery (POD), is completed and submitted daily.
3. Customer Service
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to ensure smooth operations.
- Market H Systems products and communicate potential sales opportunities to the Branch.
- Provide excellent customer service, representing the company in a professional and courteous manner.
4. Warehouse Assistance
- Assist in the warehouse as needed, ensuring stock is neatly stored and protected.
- Conduct stock counts and help with product wrapping and handling.
5. SHEQ Integrated Management System Control
- Comply with health and safety regulations, including the OHS Act.
- Report unsafe conditions or incidents immediately.
- Always ensure high housekeeping standards in both warehouse and vehicle.
Candidate Requirements
To qualify for this role, you should meet the following criteria:
- Education: A minimum of Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
- Licenses: A valid Code 8 (B) driver’s license and Professional Drivers Permit (PrDP).
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience in a similar driving role and 3 years in an operational or warehousing environment.
- Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of the Road Traffic Act and other legal requirements.
- Awareness of ISO standard requirements relevant to the role.
- Skills:
- Defensive driving techniques and excellent time management.
- Proficient in route planning and navigation.
- Strong customer service skills and attention to detail in documentation and record-keeping.
