Administrative Assistant Job Opportunity at Ad Hoc Client

A reputable transport broking company, established in 2008, is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Bookkeeper/Administrative Assistant to join their team. As a key team member, the selected candidate will manage the company’s finances and assist with a variety of administrative duties, including supporting the owner on personal tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management:

  • Accurately record day-to-day financial transactions using Sage One Cloud.
  • Maintain ledgers and prepare accounts up to trial balance stage.
  • Ensure compliance with SARS by preparing and submitting EMP201, EMP501, VAT, PAYE, UIF, and Company Tax returns via eFiling.
  • Process accounts payable and receivable and manage payroll functions.
  • Prepare financial reports, commission calculations, and draft statements as needed.

Administrative Support:

  • Manage the company owner’s inbox, WhatsApp messages, and calls, ensuring that no important communication is missed.
  • Draft and send professional letters, emails, and messages on behalf of the owner.
  • Provide general administrative support and occasionally assist with personal tasks such as errands and calls.

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

  • Proven bookkeeping experience, with proficiency in Sage One Cloud.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and SARS compliance.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and strong organisational skills.
  • A customer service-oriented approach and the ability to solve problems effectively.
  • While a degree is not mandatory, relevant qualifications will be considered an advantage.
