Key Responsibilities
- Process Mapping & Standardisation: The trainee will assist in documenting and visually mapping logistics processes across all distribution centres.
- Reporting & Analysis: The trainee will generate weekly and monthly logistics reports to aid in decision-making, track performance indicators such as OTIF (On Time In Full), truck turnaround time, and picking accuracy, and maintain dashboards for reporting purposes.
- Auditing & Compliance: The role involves conducting on-site audits to ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) in areas like receiving, dispatch, inventory management, and cold chain practices. The trainee will report audit findings and follow up on corrective actions with regional managers.
- Travel & On-site Engagement: The Logistics Management Trainee will travel regularly to distribution centres, B2B customers, and retail stores to engage with local logistics teams, observe frontline operations, and build strong relationships within the business.
- Training Support: The trainee will assist in planning and delivering logistics training sessions for team members. This includes preparing materials, co-facilitating sessions, and tracking attendance and feedback.
- Safety & Compliance: The role also involves supporting health and safety initiatives, food safety, and cold chain standards. The trainee will participate in safety audits and toolbox talks when on-site.
- Customer Service & Cost Containment: The trainee will help implement customer service initiatives and optimize logistics processes to reduce costs and improve operational efficiency.
- Team Engagement & Culture: The Logistics Management Trainee will be actively involved in internal events and recognition activities, helping to foster a positive team culture.
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates interested in the Logistics Management Trainee position should meet the following qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 2-3 years of experience in logistics or supply chain management.
