- Grade 1: R476,367 per annum
- Grade 2: R583,989 per annum

Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Senior Certificate (Grade 12/Matric) or equivalent.
- Degree/Diploma in General Nursing.
- Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
- Post-basic one-year qualification in Critical Care Nursing Science, accredited by SANC.
- Current registration with SANC as a General Nurse and Critical Care Nurse.
- Experience requirements:
- Grade 1: Minimum of 4 years’ recognised nursing experience after registration.
- Grade 2: Minimum of 14 years’ recognised nursing experience, including at least 10 years in the specialty field after completing the post-basic qualification.
Recommendation: A Diploma in Basic Midwifery will be an added advantage.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be expected to perform the following duties:
Specialised Nursing Care
- Deliver holistic, quality care to critically ill patients.
- Provide a therapeutic and safe environment for patients, staff, and the public.
- Advocate for quality patient care and safety.
- Manage patients on various renal replacement therapies.
Resource Management
- Ensure equitable, cost-effective, and efficient service delivery.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient outcomes.
- Maintain compliance with infection control, occupational health, and safety protocols.
Training and Research
- Participate in staff training programmes, workshops, and evidence-based practice research.
- Contribute to quality improvement projects aimed at enhancing critical care services.
Professional Support and Growth
- Provide clinical and professional support to nursing services.
- Act as a shift leader when required.
- Uphold ethical standards and professionalism.
- Engage in continuous professional development through the EPMDS system and other initiatives.
