The Chris Hani District Municipality (CHDM) is inviting unemployed graduates residing within its jurisdiction to apply for the Rural Roads Asset Management Systems (RRAMS) Internship Programme. This initiative aims to equip young graduates with practical workplace experience, improve job readiness, and provide meaningful opportunities to contribute to the development of local road and transport infrastructure.
Internship Details
The RRAMS Internship Programme is seeking five (5) graduates to join the municipality’s Head Office in Komani. Successful candidates will be appointed for a two-year period and will receive a monthly stipend of R8,000.
This opportunity is tailored for young professionals eager to expand their knowledge in civil engineering, transportation systems, and road network classification, while gaining first-hand exposure to municipal-level infrastructure projects.
Key Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Matric / Grade 12 certificate.
- National Diploma in Civil Engineering or a related qualification with a focus on transportation.
- Proof of completed qualifications and academic records must be attached.
- Strong computer literacy skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Age between 18 and 35 years.
- Understanding of GIS applications.
- Knowledge of transport systems, roads, and road network classifications.
- Must reside within the Chris Hani District Municipality, supported by proof of residence signed and stamped by a Ward Councillor.
- Previous beneficiaries of government internship programmes will not be considered.
Duties and Responsibilities
Interns will assist with:
- The implementation of the RRAMS project, including coordination, planning, and administration of engineering activities.
- Supporting CHDM’s efforts in road asset management and contributing to sustainable transport solutions.
