The programme is designed to give unemployed youth the chance to gain real workplace experience, develop new skills, and earn a market-related salary while preparing for long-term career prospects.

Core Purpose of the YES Programme
The Youth Employment Service (YES) is a national initiative driven by business in partnership with government. It seeks to tackle youth unemployment by creating work opportunities in both the private and public sectors.
Through the programme, young people gain:
- Practical workplace experience in a professional environment.
- New skills development that supports future employability.
- Financial independence through a fixed-term paid contract.
For 2025/2026, GIBB is offering placements at its Cape Town office and in East London, with a strong focus on administrative roles.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
- A National Diploma in Administration.
- Strong proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
- Must be a South African citizen, born in the country.
- Age between 18 and 35 years.
- Currently unemployed and available for a 12-month fixed-term contract.
- Must not have been a previous YES beneficiary.
- PC literate with a willingness to learn and adapt.
- Honest, responsible, and motivated to succeed.
