Role Overview

Graduate Engineers at FlySafair will play an active role in the design, development, and implementation of technical projects. These will span mechanical systems, mechatronics, aeronautical processes, and operational improvements. The position requires candidates to demonstrate initiative, analytical skills, and adaptability within a fast-paced aviation environment.

Key Responsibilities

Graduate Engineers will:

  • Assist with engineering project design, development, and execution.
  • Use advanced engineering software and tools to monitor performance and resolve issues.
  • Prepare project documentation, drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, research, and technical evaluations.
  • Troubleshoot, perform inspections, and support testing of machinery and processes.
  • Monitor energy consumption and identify reduction opportunities.
  • Maintain structured technical records and prepare progress reports.
  • Carry out root cause analyses to address recurring issues.
  • Ensure compliance with industry safety standards and company policies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and engage with internal and external stakeholders.

Candidate Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Matric/Grade 12 or equivalent (essential).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Aeronautical Engineering (essential).
  • Between 0 and 2 years’ experience in aviation design, maintenance, or related fields (essential).
  • Strong knowledge of engineering fundamentals in mechanical, mechatronics, or aeronautical disciplines.
