Main Purpose of the Job

The Auto Electrician will be responsible for performing technical repairs, maintenance, and diagnostics on electrical wiring and electronic components of support vehicles and earthmoving equipment. This role is critical to ensuring the safe and reliable operation of heavy machinery used in mining operations.
Minimum Qualifications
To be considered for the Auto Electrician position, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Grade 12 and N2 Engineering Studies (Required)
- Trade Test Certificate: Auto Electrician (Required)
- Valid Driver’s License: Code B/EB (Required)
- Dover B Symbol (Required)
Experience and Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years post-apprenticeship experience as an Auto Electrician in a heavy industrial, mining, or plant environment.
Knowledge and Skills
Applicants for the Auto Electrician role should demonstrate the following knowledge and skills:
- Perform asset care activities as required by the EAMS system, ensuring accurate documentation and timely reporting.
- Carry out installation, diagnostics, and repairs of auto-electrical equipment as per planned maintenance and breakdown work orders.
- Conduct daily inspection checklists for tools, equipment, and work areas.
- Identify unsafe conditions and report hazards promptly.
- Comply with safety, health, and environmental regulations at all times.
- Participate in safety meetings and contribute to team performance improvements.
- Maintain workshop areas, equipment, and tools in good working order.
- Provide feedback and suggest process improvements after maintenance tasks.
- Comply with disciplinary, behavioural, and company rules and procedures.
- Conduct risk assessments in your area of work.
- Ensure work is performed according to quality standards and operational requirements.
