About the Internship Programme
Nyandeni Local Municipality is implementing the Internship Programme 2025 to support national skills development. Successful candidates will sign an internship agreement in addition to an employment contract. Interns will receive structured training, workplace supervision, and opportunities to build future employability.

- Duration: 24 months
- Stipend: R5,000 per month
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet all criteria:
- South African citizen.
- Unemployed graduate aged 18 to 35.
- Holder of a relevant Degree or National Diploma from a recognised University or University of Technology.
Internship Streams and Qualifications
The municipality is recruiting for the following offices. All qualifications listed are NQF Level 6 or equivalent.
Municipal Manager’s Office
- Communications (1 post): Provide assistance to the Communications section.
Qualification: National Diploma in Public Relations Management or equivalent. - Operations (1 post): Administration and support services to the Public Safety section.
Qualification: National Diploma in Public Management or equivalent.
Mayor’s Office
- Administration (1 post): Administration and support services to the Mayor’s section.
Qualification: National Diploma in Public Management or equivalent.
Council’s Whip Office
- Administration (1 post): Administration and support services to the Chief Whip section.
Qualification: National Diploma in Public Management or equivalent.
How to Apply
- Get the form: Use the Nyandeni Local Municipality Application for Employment form (not the Z83). Collect it from Nyandeni LM offices in Libode and Ngqeleni, or download it from the municipal website: www.nyandenilm.gov.za.
- Prepare documents: Attach a detailed CV, copies of qualifications, ID, and driver’s licence (which may not be certified, as stated in the notice). Failure to include all listed items will lead to disqualification.
- Package and label: Write “APPLICATION FOR INTERNSHIP” on the same side as the address on the envelope, as a separate line, to help the Registry Office route your application correctly.
- Submit by hand: Deliver to the Registry Office at Nyandeni Local Municipal Office in Libode or Ngqeleni. Faxed applications will not be considered.

Late submissions will not be accepted. Only shortlisted and successful candidates will be contacted. If you do not hear from the municipality within 90 days after the closing date, consider your application unsuccessful.
