About the Role

The Dealer plays a crucial frontline role in facilitating casino table games while ensuring guests enjoy a professional, engaging, and responsible gaming experience. The position requires precision, integrity, and the ability to manage game flow efficiently in line with company standards and gaming regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Prepared Work Area

  • Ensure the gaming area, table, and float are ready for play before each shift.
  • Inspect all operating equipment including shuffling machines, cards, and chips.
  • Maintain a clean and organised station.
  • Report and follow up on any equipment issues.

Game Play

  • Professionally deal games such as Blackjack, Poker, Punto Banco, Baccarat, and American Roulette.
  • Handle player transactions involving chips and cash.
  • Provide clear, audible commentary during games.
  • Monitor guest behaviour and escalate suspicious betting patterns or underage gambling.
  • Open, close, and hand over tables between dealers or inspectors.
  • Conduct accurate cash-ups and reconcile floats at shift end.

Customer Engagement

  • Deliver a warm, friendly, and professional service to all guests.
  • Recognise customer preferences and offer relevant promotions or facilities.
  • Handle complaints, requests, or suggestions effectively, escalating when necessary.

Job Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification in Gaming Operations.
  • Prior customer-facing experience.
  • Successful completion of a practical Dealing School.

Skills and Competencies

  • Ability to deal Roulette, Blackjack, and Baccarat confidently.
  • Excellent communication and numerical skills.
  • Strong emotional resilience and conflict-handling ability.
  • Accuracy and honesty in cash handling.
  • Knowledge of gaming compliance, responsible gambling, and operational procedures.

Licensing and Accreditation

  • Must meet all requirements for a gaming licence.

Work Conditions

  • Must be willing to work shifts and in designated smoking areas.
  • Physical mobility to move across the gaming floor as required.
  • Full visual acuity and manual dexterity to handle chips and cards.

Employment Equity and Community Preference

Preference will be given to candidates from designated groups in accordance with the Employment Equity Act (No. 55 of 1998).
