1. Enrolled Nursing Assistant – Permanent Position
Department: Health

Remuneration: R15 872.78 per month (excluding benefits)

Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 / NQF Level 4 qualification
- Enrolled Nursing Assistant Certificate
- At least 1 year of post-training experience as an Enrolled Nursing Assistant
- Current SANC registration
Primary Function:
The Enrolled Nursing Assistant will support the delivery of comprehensive primary health care services. This includes participating in community health initiatives, health education, and patient care under the supervision of professional nurses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Communicate with patients and assist with case file management.
- Provide basic total nursing care to patients and families within ethical and legal frameworks.
- Assist with data recording, reporting, and control of patient information.
- Support professional staff in managing communicable and non-communicable diseases.
- Participate in community awareness programmes such as immunisation, oral health, and chronic disease management.
- Perform administrative duties relevant to nursing care.

2. Enrolled Nurse – Permanent Position

Remuneration: R19 285.42 per month (excluding benefits)

Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 / NQF Level 4 qualification
- Certificate in Enrolled Nursing Course (Equivalent to Higher National Certificate – NQF Level 5)
- Current SANC registration as a Staff Nurse (R2175)
- At least 2 years’ post-enrolment experience
- One year or more experience in a Primary Health Care (PHC) environment
Primary Function:
The Enrolled Nurse will deliver safe, scientific, and comprehensive nursing care to individuals, families, and communities. The role involves preventive, promotive, curative, and rehabilitative healthcare in line with nursing ethics and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and provide preventive and curative healthcare services.
- Support clinicians in managing communicable and non-communicable diseases.
- Participate in health education and community outreach programmes.
- Maintain and update clinical records and registers accurately.
- Deliver customer-focused service in line with City of Johannesburg standards.
Core and Leading Competencies:
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Word and Excel)
- Strong observation, interviewing, and counselling skills
- Knowledge of City health policies and best practices
- Basic mathematical literacy for dosage calculations
- Understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and microbiology
- Ability to perform wound management, suturing, and apply/remove plaster of Paris (POP)
