The Department of Employment and Labour (DEL) is inviting unemployed South African graduates to apply for its BCEA Internship Programme for the 2025–2027 financial years.
This national internship offers opportunities in all nine provinces, giving graduates the chance to gain hands-on experience in South Africa’s labour and employment sector.

About the BCEA Internship
The Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA) Internship Programme equips young graduates with practical workplace experience in labour law, employment standards, and compliance.
Interns will work alongside departmental professionals to promote fair labour practices and assist with the implementation of employment legislation.
- Duration: 24 months
- Monthly Stipend: R7 860
- Closing Date: 21 November 2025
This two-year opportunity allows graduates to develop critical skills while contributing to South Africa’s goal of decent work and fair employment conditions.
Who Can Apply
To qualify for the BCEA Internship, applicants must:
Be a South African citizen who is unemployed
Not have participated in any internship programme before
Hold a National Diploma (NQF 6) or Bachelor’s Degree (NQF 7) in one of the following fields:
- Labour Relations
- BCom Law
- LLB
- Labour Law
- Commercial Law
Preference will be given to youth, persons with disabilities, and individuals from previously disadvantaged groups.
