Key Responsibilities of the Advertising Assistant
As the Advertising Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
- Managing Promotional Campaigns: Assist in the coordination of all promotional campaigns and advertising initiatives.
- Supplier and Team Coordination: Work closely with suppliers and internal teams to meet the requirements of each promotional campaign.
- Support to Advertising Coordinator and Marketing Team: Help with the day-to-day tasks and assist in keeping all marketing activities running smoothly.

- Job Number Management: Open job numbers within RMS (Resource Management System) and SAP (Systems, Applications, and Products).
- Promotional Reports: Extract and maintain reports relevant to ongoing promotional activities.
- Briefing Suppliers and Teams: Brief the advertising agency and media teams on all promotions.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
To qualify for this role, candidates must have the following qualifications and skills:
Minimum Qualifications
- Matric (Grade 12): A basic level of education is required, with a strong preference for candidates who have pursued further studies or training in marketing or advertising.
Experience
- 1-2 years in marketing/advertising: Experience in a related field, particularly in FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) or retail marketing, will be advantageous. This experience allows the candidate to better understand the nuances of consumer promotions and advertising campaigns.
Key Knowledge and Skills
- Familiarity with ATL and BTL marketing: The ideal candidate should have some experience with Above The Line (ATL) and Below The Line (BTL) marketing, which covers various forms of media such as print, digital, and in-store promotions.
- Excellent Computer Literacy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 is required, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, which are essential for organizing and tracking tasks, reports, and communications.
