Minimum Qualification and Requirements

To qualify for this internship, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Hold a qualification in a finance-related field.
  • Be willing to learn and undergo training.
  • Demonstrate strong administrative skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Be able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment, taking initiative where necessary.
  • Have their own transport, which is crucial for commuting to and from the workplace.

Duties and Responsibilities

Although the internship role will involve training and development, the selected intern will also be expected to take on a range of responsibilities within the finance department. These include:

  • Following up with suppliers for outstanding statements, invoices, and delivery notes.
  • Capturing and processing supplier invoices in Accpac (a financial software application).
  • Assisting with Occupational Rental manual invoice batches.
  • Taking on ad hoc accounting duties as instructed by the Financial Accountant.
  • Helping with BEE compliance-related tasks.
  • Filing finance documents in an organised and secure manner.
  • Assisting with the reconciliation of creditor accounts.
  • Capturing and reconciling payments using the Standard Bank Pay card system.
  • Processing intercompany supplier invoices using Accpac.

These responsibilities are designed to give the intern practical, hands-on experience in financial operations, accounting processes, and compliance procedures.
