Key Responsibilities
As a Bartender, the primary tasks revolve around preparing and serving beverages while maintaining a high level of guest engagement and ensuring adherence to operational standards.
- Prepared Work Area
- Ensure the work area is set up and prepared for service, including conducting necessary checks and preparing mise-en-place.
- Check the cleanliness of your service station and ensure the bar is stocked and ready to meet customer demands.
- Report any issues regarding the bar’s appearance or the functioning of equipment and systems.
- Service Execution
- Take guest orders promptly and accurately, ensuring that they are placed into the system.
- Provide expert recommendations regarding the beverage menu, keeping up to date with the latest drink trends and menu items.
- Mix drinks and serve them according to the guest’s order, while maintaining the quality and presentation standards.
- Clear glasses after guests have finished their drinks and ensure that the area is kept tidy.
- Complete cash-ups at the end of the shift and ensure the accuracy of billing.

Job Requirements
The successful candidate must meet the following qualifications and skills:
- Education: Grade 12 is preferred, although a Grade 10 qualification combined with relevant experience will also be considered.
- Experience: A minimum of 2 years of previous experience as a bartender is required.
- Skills and Competencies:
- Extensive knowledge of beverage and cocktail products.
- Experience with barista skills is advantageous.
- Ability to use and care for operating equipment.
- Excellent communication skills, including listening and interacting with customers.
- Upselling skills to encourage customers to explore promotional items.
- Basic computer literacy and cashiering skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle customer requests professionally.
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
