Overview of the Role
As a Buyers Administrator, your main task will be to provide administrative support to the buying team. You’ll help with everyday tasks like managing product listings, updating product details, and ensuring smooth communication between different teams.

Key Responsibilities
Product Listings & Specifications
- Assist the buying team in managing product listings and ensuring product details (like descriptions, prices, and specifications) are up-to-date.
- Help update and track product information across internal systems, ensuring accurate details are available on all platforms.
Monthly Range Reviews
- Assist with organising and documenting the monthly range review process.
- Support the team with reports, meeting preparation, and staying on top of deadlines to ensure smooth and efficient reviews.
General Administrative Support
- Help with day-to-day administrative tasks such as organising meetings, handling paperwork, and coordinating logistics for team events.
- Provide general support to keep the buying department running smoothly.
Marketing Support
- Help prepare product details for marketing campaigns and ensure information is submitted on time.
- Act as a link between the buying and marketing teams, ensuring clear communication and keeping promotional campaigns on track.
Regulatory Compliance (ICASA/NRCS)
- Assist in submitting compliance paperwork for ICASA and NRCS certifications.
- Help ensure that product labels meet regulatory standards and that all documentation is accurate and submitted on time.
Skills and Experience Required
To excel in this role, the ideal candidate should possess the following:
- 1 – 2 years of work experience in a similar administrative or retail-related position.
- Strong administrative and organisational skills: The ability to manage multiple tasks, stay organised, and handle deadlines is crucial in this role.
- Attention to detail: A high level of accuracy is required when managing product information and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Proactive approach: The ideal candidate should be able to take initiative and manage tasks with minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with retail processes or eCommerce systems: Experience with retail product data or eCommerce platforms would be advantageous but not a requirement.
- Clear communication skills: Both written and verbal communication are important, as you will be required to liaise with various departments, including marketing, store operations, and compliance teams.
