The City of Johannesburg (CoJ) is offering exciting EPWP Youth Opportunities for unemployed South African youth through various internship positions.

These positions are available across different departments and will run for a period not exceeding 11 months. Interns will gain valuable work experience and training to improve their skills and enhance their employability.

1. EPWP: Eco-Guides

Ref No / Circular: STC 019/2025
Salary: R4500.00 pm (stipend)
Department: Department of Economic Development
Requirements: Grade 12 / Matric certificate
Skills and Competencies:

• Computer Literacy (MS Applications)

• Batho Pele Principle Ethics

Duties:

• Lead environmental awareness campaigns in your community
• Conduct and organize environmental awareness outreach activities at Spaza shops

2. EPWP: Environmental Health Assistants

Salary: R4500.00 pm (stipend)
Department: Economic Development
Requirements: Grade 12 / Matric or NQF Level 4 qualification

Duties:

• Assist with business permit processing
• Ensure public health compliance

3. EPWP: Office Admin Support

Salary: R4500.00 pm (stipend)

Requirements: Diploma or Degree (NQF 6/7) in Public/Business Administration or related qualification

• Serve as the first point of contact for Spaza shop owners and internal users regarding queries and issues
• Provide administrative support to the department

Requirements: Diploma or Degree (NQF 6/7) in Town Planning or related qualification

• Ensure spaza shop compliance with land use regulations

5. EPWP: Assistant Technical Coordinators

Department: Sustainable Employment Facilitation
Requirements: Grade 12 / NQF Level 4 or equivalent, 6 months of administration and data capturing experience

Duties:

• Data capturing for EPWP
• General office administration

Duties:

• Perform cleaning duties in the Opportunity Centre
• Beverage preparation and serving during meetings
• General office support
