The Role: Customer Service Clerk

As a Customer Service Clerk, you will play a critical role in enhancing the customer experience. The primary responsibility of this position is to deliver exceptional customer service and support by adhering to the bank’s standard operating procedures (SOPs).

By doing so, you’ll help ensure the smooth running of ABSA’s customer services centre while maintaining the highest standards of service.

Key Responsibilities

Your main duties will include:

  • Customer Service: You will be responsible for addressing customer inquiries efficiently, accurately, and with courtesy. Responding to all customer service matters, complaints, and requests promptly will be a vital part of your role.
  • Support for Customer Services Centre Processes: You will support the development and maintenance of customer service processes. This includes adhering to all processes and continuously looking for opportunities to improve client servicing procedures within the centre.
  • Risk and Compliance Management: You will be responsible for ensuring that all customer service activities comply with the company’s risk management policies and procedures, as well as any relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Stakeholder Management: Establishing and maintaining professional relationships with relevant stakeholders will be crucial. You’ll need to stay up to date with their needs and issues, responding rapidly and effectively.
  • Self-Development: Taking ownership of your training and development is important. Proactively enhancing your skills will be essential to your success in the role.

Requirements

Educational Requirements:
