The North West Department of Health has officially announced internship opportunities for the 2025/26 financial year. These posts are designed to provide young professionals with structured workplace experience while contributing to healthcare services in the province.

1. Internship Programme: Pharmacist

  • Contract Type: 12 Months Fixed Term
  • Salary: R440 226.00 per annum (all-inclusive package)

Successful applicants will be placed at various health facilities across the North West Province, including:

  • Ngaka Modiri Molema District: Mafikeng Provincial Hospital (X2)
  • Bojanala District: Brits District Hospital (X1), Job Shimankana Tabane Hospital (X3)
  • Dr Ruth Segomotsi Mompati District: Joe Morolong Memorial Hospital (X2)
  • Dr Kenneth Kaunda District: Klerksdorp/Tshepong Hospital Complex (X9)

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy recognised by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA).
  • Final-year students may apply, provided they attach their June 2025 academic results.
  • Appointment will only be finalised upon successful completion of studies.

Requirements

  • An appropriate qualification that allows registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Psychologist (Student/Intern).
  • Candidates must be actively pursuing a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology.
  • Shortlisted candidates will be required to submit current proof of HPCSA registration.

  • Applications must be submitted on the new Z83 form, obtainable from any Public Service Department or online at www.dpsa.gov.za.
  • All applications must include:
    • A recently updated, comprehensive CV
    • A copy of the applicant’s ID document
    • Names of three referees
  • Only shortlisted candidates will be required to submit certified documents.
  • Foreign qualifications must be evaluated by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA).
  • Non-RSA citizens and permanent residents must attach proof of their status.
