Requirements

  • Qualification: B. Pharm or equivalent.
  • Registration: South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC).
  • Experience: One year or more in a pharmaceutical warehouse/bulk storage environment (advantageous).
  • Knowledge:
    • National Drug Policy, Essential Drugs Programme, PFMA, Good Pharmacy Practice.
    • Medicines and Related Substances Act, Pharmacy Act, and Good Wholesaling Practice (GWP).
    • Pharmaceutical Services’ approaches, policies, and procedures.
  • Skills:
    • Leadership, problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
    • Computer literacy and report writing.
    • Monitoring, evaluation, and risk assessment abilities.
  • Other: Valid driver’s license and motivation to achieve results.

Duties

  • Coordinate and supervise final procurement processes at facility level.
  • Monitor stock delivery, ensure proper documentation, and enable timely supplier payments.
  • Address long overdue orders with suppliers and demanders.
  • Develop and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Manage resources and implement internal control procedures.
  • Represent pharmaceutical services in committees and meetings.
  • Train and guide support personnel.
  • Supervise staff, handle labour relations, and manage performance.
  • Draft and submit monthly and quarterly management reports.
