Ehlanzeni District Municipality (EDM), located in Mbombela, Mpumalanga, is inviting applications for two Information Technology Internship positions. This 24-month internship programme is an excellent opportunity for young South African citizens to gain practical experience within a local government ICT environment.

Internship Overview

Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for this opportunity, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Educational Qualifications:
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- A three-year National Diploma or Degree in Information Technology
- Relevant certifications such as A+ and N+ or equivalent tertiary IT qualifications
 
- Age Criteria:
- Must be between 18 and 35 years old
 
- Additional Requirements:
- Must be a South African citizen
- Must be unemployed
- Must not have participated in any internship programme before
- Willing to sign an internship agreement

Internship Responsibilities
Successful candidates will work under the supervision of a Senior Manager within the ICT unit. Key responsibilities will include:
- Providing user support for all internal and external IT services
- Installing and maintaining hardware, software, and network infrastructure
- Responding to technical enquiries and troubleshooting issues
- Diagnosing and resolving computer-related problems
- Maintaining accurate inventories of IT hardware and software
- Ensuring smooth operation of information processing systems
- Offering technical assistance and application support
- Assisting with staff training on system usage and data processing
