As an Electrical Engineer at Air Products, the selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day electrical maintenance operations and providing essential technical support to the maintenance, operations, and project teams. Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance Oversight: Ensure optimal performance and reliability of electrical equipment through continuous monitoring and maintenance. Maximise the effective use of artisans and artisan assistants by reviewing maintenance priorities and assigning tasks.
- Planning and Execution: Participate in planning activities to ensure the most efficient utilisation of manpower, materials, and methods to minimise production disruptions.
- Procedure Development: Develop and document detailed procedures for the maintenance and operation of all electrical equipment to enhance safety and performance.
- Continuous Improvement: Lead continuous improvement initiatives by implementing effective reliability strategies, aiming to enhance the performance and life cycle of electrical systems.
- Project Support: Provide technical support to the On-Sites project department, contributing expertise to ensure that project requirements are met.
- Shutdown Management: Plan and control plant shutdowns, assess long-term requirements, and ensure both plant and contract labor are adequately organised. Additionally, initiate requisitions for consumables and equipment spares.
Essential Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications and experience:
- Educational Requirements: A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a recognised equivalent qualification.
- Experience: A minimum of 10 years’ experience in the maintenance and operation of electrical equipment, specifically with high-voltage (HV) motors, switchgear, transformers, and substation maintenance.
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of electrical engineering standards, protection relays, and fault calculations.
- Predictive Maintenance Knowledge: Experience with predictive maintenance practices to ensure equipment reliability.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with team members at all levels.
- Computer Skills: Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel, to manage documentation and reporting.
- Driver’s License: A valid, unendorsed driver’s license and own vehicle are essential.
