Ngaka Modiri Molema District Municipality has opened applications for unemployed persons residing within the district to participate in the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP). The initiative offers 141 positions across various municipal offices and schools, aimed at supporting local communities while creating employment opportunities.
The programme runs for 18 months, with participants receiving a monthly stipend of R2,786.64 (excluding UIF), in line with the Ministerial Determination on the Basic Conditions of Employment Act, 1997.
Available EPWP Opportunities
The programme is spread across five local municipalities within the district, with the following allocations:
- Mahikeng Local Municipality – 40 participants
- Ditsobotla Local Municipality – 30 participants
- Ramotshere Moiloa Local Municipality – 30 participants
- Tswaing Local Municipality – 21 participants
- Ratlou Local Municipality – 20 participants
Key duties
Successful applicants will perform essential services that contribute to cleaner, safer, and better-maintained public facilities. Duties include:
- General cleaning and maintenance of municipal buildings.
- Grounds maintenance at schools, including tree cutting, vegetation clearing, and upkeep of vegetable or ornamental gardens.
- Cleaning of school administration blocks and assisting with basic administrative work.
Requirements
Applicants must meet the following minimum criteria:
- South African citizenship and residence within one of the five municipalities.
- Minimum qualification of Grade 10 with an academic report.
- Certified copy of identity document.
- Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Proof of residence.
