Financial Assistant Job Vacancy at Polokwane Campus

The Directorate of Finance (Revenue Services) is inviting applications for the position of Financial Assistant at the Polokwane Campus. This role is ideal for detail-oriented individuals who are eager to strengthen their career in finance while contributing to the smooth running of revenue services.

Key Responsibilities

The Financial Assistant will be expected to:

  • Process transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Verify that only valid bank notes, cheques, debit and credit cards, and postal orders are accepted.
  • Prepare balancing schedules and ensure daily banking of receipts.
  • Secure cash and equivalents during the working day.
  • Handle queries related to payments.
  • Support the department by performing ad hoc tasks as assigned by the Manager or Head of Department.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

Academic Qualification

  • A National Senior Certificate with Mathematics Literacy and Accounting, or Mathematics.

Experience

  • At least two years of experience in a financial environment.
  • Computer literacy is essential.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Familiarity with ITS or other financial systems.
