Grade 1 Teacher Job Summary
Reddford House The Hills is seeking a qualified and experienced Grade 1 Teacher who will be responsible for teaching, guiding, and nurturing young learners in the Foundation Phase. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education, be creative, and be able to implement innovative and interactive teaching strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with the CAPS curriculum while incorporating modern teaching methodologies
- Create an inclusive classroom environment that fosters creativity and curiosity
- Assess and monitor students’ progress through formal and informal assessments
- Maintain open communication with parents regarding student progress and development
- Integrate educational technology into the teaching process
- Participate in professional development programs to stay updated with educational trends

Minimum Requirements
- Educational Qualification: A Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree in Foundation Phase or an equivalent qualification
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in a Foundation Phase classroom
- Professional Registration: SACE (South African Council for Educators) registration is mandatory
- Language Skills: Proficiency in English (written and spoken). Knowledge of an additional South African language is an advantage
- Computer Literacy: Ability to use technology in teaching and administrative tasks (e.g., Google Classroom, MS Teams)
