Huawei Women in Tech Skills Training Programme 2025

Huawei South Africa has officially opened applications for the 2025 edition of its flagship Women in Tech Digital Skills Training Programme, set to take place from 27 to 29 August 2025 in Johannesburg.

Now in its fourth year, the programme continues to champion women entrepreneurs and professionals who are building businesses and embracing innovation in an increasingly digital world. As AI, 5G, and emerging technologies reshape the business landscape, Huawei’s three-day programme is a timely opportunity for women to upskill, connect, and lead with confidence.

2025 Theme: TechHERpreneur — Where Innovation Meets Ambition

This year’s theme, TechHERpreneur, highlights the role of women who are not just surviving digital change but shaping it. It’s about giving “her” the tools, insight, and community to grow.

“Our 2025 theme, TechHERpreneur, is about meeting women where they are — building, adapting, and leading in a rapidly changing world,” says Vanashree Govender, Senior PR Manager at Huawei South Africa.

Whether you’re a solopreneur, a startup founder, or leading an established company, the programme invites you to step into your next phase of growth. And the best part? It’s fully funded — no cost to apply or attend.

About the Huawei Women in Tech Skills Training Programme

📍 Days 1 & 2: Huawei Campus, Johannesburg
Participants will dive into immersive, expert-led sessions focused on leveraging emerging technologies to solve real-world business challenges. Expect hands-on insights into AI, 5G, cloud tools, cybersecurity, and more — all guided by Huawei’s senior tech leaders and ICT specialists.

📍 Day 3: Henley Business School Africa
The final day shifts focus to the entrepreneur behind the business with training on personal leadership, resilience, and strategic thinking. The programme concludes with a Henley certificate of attendance, an asset to boost your professional profile.

New for 2025: Practical Tech Masterclass with Stuff Magazine

One of the most exciting additions to this year’s programme is a business growth masterclass and tech demo led by Stuff, South Africa’s top consumer tech publication.

This session brings a real-world, hands-on layer to the programme. You’ll explore:

  • Productivity tools that streamline your workflow
  • Smart devices and storage options to scale your operations
  • Digital visibility platforms to help your business stand out online

Whether you’re exploring e-commerce, automating admin, or expanding your customer reach, this masterclass is your digital cheat code.

Who can Apply?

The programme is open to:

  • Women entrepreneurs and professionals with an existing business
  • Any sector or age group
  • Those with a strong vision for growth, a desire to integrate technology, and a hunger to lead

A total of 40 women will be selected for the 2025 cohort, based on:

  • Innovation potential
  • Entrepreneurial drive
  • Business growth mindset

“Whether you’re just getting traction or looking to future-proof what you’ve built, this programme gives you the tools and perspective to make smarter decisions in a changing world,” adds Govender.

Henley + Huawei = Impact with Purpose

Linda Buckley, Pro Dean of Teaching and Learning at Henley Business School Africa, shares:

“This is about digital fluency, personal mastery, and the confidence to grow beyond survival. At Henley, we’re committed to building the people who build the businesses that build Africa.”

The collaboration between Huawei and Henley is a standout example of corporate and academic partners working together to create lasting economic impact especially for women entrepreneurs in Africa.
