Safair Operations, operating as FlySafair, is offering an exciting opportunity for Industrial Engineering graduates to join the airline as Business Optimisation Engineer Graduates. The programme is based at the company’s Head Office in Johannesburg, with three contract positions available.

About the Role

The graduate position is designed to give young engineers hands-on experience in the aviation sector, focusing on business process improvement and optimisation. Successful candidates will work closely with the Business Optimisation Manager and contribute to projects that enhance efficiency and customer value across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Graduates appointed to this role will:

• Assist in documenting, analysing, and improving business processes.
• Contribute to projects by executing assigned tasks for successful delivery.
• Perform as-is analysis and to-be design on optimisation initiatives.
• Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and training materials.
• Apply problem-solving skills to support business improvement.
• Learn and implement BPMN 2.0 process mapping techniques.
• Maintain project documents on record management portals.
• Regularly update tasks and statuses in the central project management tool.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements.
• Keep stakeholders informed on progress of assigned initiatives.
• Gain exposure to relevant business optimisation software and tools.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for the programme, applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Grade 12 or equivalent (essential).
• B.Eng. Industrial Engineering degree (essential).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• High attention to detail.
