Joe Gqabi District Municipality Internship Programme

The Joe Gqabi District Municipality is offering a fantastic opportunity for graduates seeking practical work experience through their 12-month internship programme. This initiative aims to provide graduates with exposure to the operational realities of municipalities, alongside valuable networking and mentorship from seasoned professionals.

Internship Opportunities and Requirements

Stipend: R5,300.00 per month (all inclusive)

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must be a South African citizen.
  • Must reside within the Joe Gqabi District Municipality area (verification will be conducted).
  • Applicants must be unemployed graduates aged between 18 and 35 years.
  • Candidates should possess a National Diploma or Degree (360 credits) in the field specified for each position.

Internship Positions Available:

  • Communications: National Diploma/Degree in Communications, Graphic Design, or Public Relations (1 position)
  • Occupational Health and Safety: National Diploma in Safety Management/Environment (1 position)
  • Project Management Unit: National Diploma/Degree in Civil Engineering (1 position)
  • Water Services Technician: National Diploma in Water and Waste Water (1 position)

How to Apply

Interested applicants must submit a detailed CV and the prescribed application form. These documents should be addressed to the Manager: Human Resources or sent electronically to recruitment@jgdm.gov.za.

The relevant application form can be downloaded from the official Joe Gqabi District Municipality website, www.jgdm.gov.za. Applications will not be accepted if submitted late or via fax. Additionally, lobbying of councillors or officials is strictly prohibited and will result in disqualification.
