Duties and Responsibilities
The Junior Software Developer will play a key role in improving and maintaining the systems that keep GetWorth ahead of its competitors. You’ll work with a team of experienced engineers to design, develop, and scale software solutions that impact operations, trading, and pricing.
Your role will include:
- Developing clean, efficient, and scalable software applications.
- Enhancing integrations, data flows, and internal automation tools.
- Monitoring system performance and ensuring reliability and uptime.
- Supporting database tuning, backups, and recovery processes.
- Implementing secure coding practices in line with POPIA.
- Collaborating with Product, Data, and Engineering teams to solve real-world business problems.
- Managing deployments, version control, and release processes.

Requirements
Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a similar field. However, equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
To thrive in this role, you should bring:
- 1–2 years of hands-on experience in software or database development.
- Solid understanding of SQL and exposure to relational or NoSQL databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Redis.
- Basic knowledge of Windows Server or Linux environments.
- Experience in database optimisation, security, and data integrity.
- Familiarity with APIs, integrations, and data pipelines.
