Key Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Assisting in the preparation and completion of the Internal Control Frameworks.
  • Conducting initial risk assessments and providing ratings for identified risks.
  • Completing walk-throughs of business processes to identify potential risks and control gaps.

2. Execution of Audits

  • Testing the effectiveness of controls and documenting the findings.
  • Identifying and documenting any gaps in processes or controls.
  • Offering recommendations to improve processes and controls based on audit findings.

3. Compliance and Risk Management

  • Assessing the effectiveness of controls and formulating improvement recommendations where necessary.
  • Collaborating with teams across different departments to ensure compliance with legislation and corporate policies.

4. Ad-hoc Tasks and Projects

  • Managing various ad-hoc audit tasks as assigned by the Audit Manager.
  • Taking ownership and accountability for internal audits, ensuring that tasks are completed within deadlines.

Skills and Competencies Required

  • Educational Qualification: A BCom Accounting degree specialising in Audit is essential.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, is required. The ability to build reports and analyse data effectively is key.

  • Analytical Thinking: Strong attention to detail with the ability to critically assess and analyse financial information.
