Drakenstein Municipality, in partnership with the Manufacturing, Engineering and Related Services Sector Education and Training Authority (merSETA), is offering an exciting opportunity for unemployed local youth to join its 2025–2027 Technical Programme.
This apprenticeship is designed to equip participants with practical skills and qualifications, enabling them to pursue sustainable careers in the automotive sector.
merSETA Programme Overview
- Learning Programme Type: Apprenticeship
- Occupational Certificate: Automotive Mechanic
Applicants are encouraged to select only one programme of interest, as multiple applications will not be considered.
Requirements
To be eligible for the programme, candidates must:
- Hold a Grade 12 qualification with Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy
- Be unemployed and aged between 18 and 30 years old
- Reside within the local municipal area

Applicants must submit the following:
- Personal cover letter
- Comprehensive Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Certified copy of ID, qualification/results, and academic record (certification must not be older than three months)
- Municipal account letter or municipal utility bill as proof of residence
