Requirements for Applicants

To qualify for the Nasi iSpani Youth Service Programme, applicants must:

  • Be between 18 and 33 years old
  • Have completed Grade 11 or higher, with relevant qualifications for the chosen programme
  • Hold a valid South African Identity Document
  • Reside in one of Gauteng’s five regions: Johannesburg, Tshwane, Ekurhuleni, Sedibeng, or Westrand
  • Have no criminal record
  • Be willing to commit to a two-year contract

The Nasi iSpani Youth Service Programme provides training and job opportunities in the following fields:

  • Electrical / Solar Installation and Maintenance
  • Plumbing
  • Carpentry
  • Boiler Assistant
  • Fitting and Tuning
  • Mechanical / Building
  • Air Conditioning and Refrigeration
  • Welding
  • Handyman and Painting
  • Data Capturing
  • Finance / Human Resources Management
  • Procurement / Asset Management

Participants will gain hands-on experience and develop skills essential to industries that drive South Africa’s economic growth. The programme is part of a broader effort to build a skilled workforce, reducing reliance on external contractors and tenders.

  • A stipend of R3 500 per month for 24 months
