Available Oakhill School Internships
There are three main internship positions available at Oakhill School for 2025/2026.
1. Foundation Phase Intern
This internship is ideal for someone who is enrolling in or currently studying towards a B.Ed Degree – Foundation Phase. It’s a great opportunity to work with Grade 1–3 learners while also completing your studies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assisting in Grade 1–3 classes across all learning areas.
- Working under the mentorship of experienced and qualified teachers.
- Participating in co-curricular activities and sports coaching.
- Taking part in supervision duties (including some evenings, weekends, and school holidays).
- Engaging in professional and personal growth opportunities.
- Working as part of different collaborative teams.
Requirements:
- Excellent command of the English language.
- Computer literacy.
- A passion for learning.
- Proactive and innovative attitude.
- First-year student or currently enrolled in tertiary education.
- Own transport and accommodation.

2. Intermediate Phase Intern
This position is for final-year students who are studying towards a B.Ed Degree – Intermediate Phase, with a special interest in Science and Mathematics. You will be working with Grade 4–7 learners.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assisting in Grade 4–7 classes across all learning areas.
- Mentorship from qualified teachers.
- Involvement in sports and co-curricular activities.
- Supervision during school hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Participation in growth and development programmes.
- Working collaboratively with other staff members.
Requirements:
- Excellent command of English.
- Computer literacy.
- Proof of current registration in final year at tertiary level.
- Own transport and accommodation.

3. College Intern
This internship is designed for 3rd or 4th year students who are studying towards a teaching qualification with Physical Sciences and Mathematics as subjects. You will mainly assist in Grades 8–12.

- Assisting in Grade 8–12 Mathematics and Physical Sciences classes.
- Helping in the science laboratory.
- Receiving mentorship from experienced teachers.
- Participation in co-curricular activities (preference for Water Polo coaching is an advantage).
- Supervision duties on evenings, weekends, and school holidays.
- Opportunities for both professional and personal development.
- Active involvement in teamwork and collaboration.
Requirements:
- Excellent English communication skills.
- Computer literacy.
- Passion for teaching and learning.
- Proof of registration for 3rd or 4th year at tertiary level.
