Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 plus an LLB Degree (NQF 7) or a four-year Legal qualification recognized by SAQA.
- Minimum of 2 years legal experience after qualification.
- Superior Court or litigation experience is an added advantage.
- Valid driver’s license.
Skills and Competencies:
- Knowledge of registry duties and case flow management.
- Understanding of legislation governing the public service.
- Strong computer literacy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Research, report writing, and problem-solving abilities.
- Planning, organizing, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
Duties of the Registrar:
- Process default judgments to improve court efficiency.
- Determine if pleadings/processes comply with court rules.
- Consider applications for default judgment (Rule 31[5]).
- Execute taxations of costs.
- Finalize opposed and unopposed taxations.
- Handle taxation reviews (Rule 48).
- Draft stated cases, replies, and submissions for Judiciary.
- Analyze statistical data to improve efficiency.
- Resolve Presidential Hotline queries.
- Supervise and develop staff members.
- Ensure general supervision of employees.
