Key Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse / Health Practitioner will be required to perform various duties during the school day. These include, but are not limited to:

1. First Aid and Medical Support: Provide immediate first aid for any injuries that occur on campus, such as cuts, sprains, and bruises. You will also be expected to manage any minor health concerns that arise, including headaches, allergies, and stomach complaints.

4. Supporting Emotional Wellbeing: While primarily a health role, your duties may also extend to providing a reassuring presence for students who may be feeling unwell or anxious. Emotional support is just as important in a school environment, and understanding the mental and emotional state of students is crucial to providing effective care.
5. Collaboration with Staff: Work closely with teachers and other staff members to ensure that students’ health needs are being met and that any significant health-related issues are communicated effectively. You may also be involved in the implementation of health-related policies and procedures within the school.
6. Health Education: Educating students about healthy lifestyles, hygiene, and personal care is another essential aspect of the role. Providing basic health education can empower students to take care of their health and prevent unnecessary medical issues.
