Key Responsibilities
As a Sales Assistant at GALXBOY, you will be integral to ensuring that customers enjoy a smooth, engaging, and satisfying shopping experience. Here are the key areas of responsibility:
- Customer Service
- Greet customers with a friendly, approachable attitude as they enter the store.
- Assist customers in locating products and provide detailed product information, making personalized recommendations based on their needs and preferences.
- Use upselling and cross-selling techniques to drive higher sales by increasing units per transaction (UPT), average transaction value (ATV), conversion rates, and overall turnover.
- Be knowledgeable about various payment methods, including PAYFLEX, PJN, and Happy Pay, and effectively communicate these options to customers.
- Represent the GALXBOY brand by adhering to the uniform and grooming policies, ensuring you look presentable and professional at all times.
- Visual Merchandising
- Maintain a strong understanding of the brand’s products, including materials, care instructions, and pricing, so you can offer informed advice and recommendations to customers.
- Assist in organizing and displaying merchandise, including steaming, tagging, pricing, folding, hanging, and replenishing products on the floor.
- Follow visual merchandising guidelines to ensure the store layout is visually appealing and optimized for an excellent shopping experience.
- Keep the store neat and organized, maintaining an environment that encourages customer engagement.
- Stock Control
- Monitor stock levels on the sales floor, ensuring the store is fully stocked and that merchandise is easy to access.
- Maintain the stockroom in an organized manner, ensuring that products are stored correctly and easily retrieved when needed.
- Inform the management team of stock levels, sell-outs, popular items, and any other inventory needs.
- Receive and unbox new stock shipments in a timely manner, ensuring products are appropriately restocked daily, weekly, or as required.
- Daily Operations and Housekeeping
- Adhere to time and attendance policies, ensuring punctuality and proper attendance in line with company procedures.
- Process customer transactions accurately using the POS system, handling cash and card payments efficiently and ensuring no discrepancies in the cash register.
- Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the store by organizing products, sweeping the floors, cleaning displays, and keeping surfaces tidy.
- Follow all daily operational procedures, ensuring that the store runs smoothly and efficiently.
Skills and Personal Attributes
To excel in this role, you’ll need to be passionate about the retail industry and possess the following skills and qualifications:
- Education: A Grade 12 certificate is a requirement. A higher education qualification is advantageous.
