Key Responsibilities
As a Sales Manager at Assupol Life Ltd., your primary role will be to recruit, maintain, and develop a strong sales team to drive business growth. You will be responsible for setting ambitious sales targets, managing regional operations, and ensuring your team delivers exceptional results. Your duties will include:
1. Sales Planning and Implementation
- Develop and implement comprehensive sales plans to achieve set goals and targets.
- Communicate these plans effectively to your sales teams and assign roles and responsibilities.
- Recruit new sales representatives in line with the HR plan.
- Plan infrastructure requirements such as office space, vehicles, and policy materials.
- Participate in the provincial budgeting process and ensure alignment with company policies and procedures.
- Regularly monitor and evaluate sales team performance, providing feedback and support for improvement.
2. Expense Budget Management
- Track and manage regional expenses in alignment with the allocated budget.
- Investigate any deviations, provide corrective recommendations, and monitor petty cash requisitions.
- Prepare detailed management reports on budget deviations and resolutions.
3. Customer and Stakeholder Relations
- Address customer queries and concerns in a professional and efficient manner.
- Understand and manage the impact of stakeholder policies on regional business.
- Deploy the correct interactions and processes to ensure long-term stakeholder relationships.
4. Communication Management
- Conduct stakeholder analysis and identify key market players.
- Stay informed on market trends and adapt strategies accordingly.
- Communicate company themes and messages clearly to your teams and clients.
5. Regional Office Management
- Oversee all aspects of the regional office, including sales force recruitment, training, performance management, and client services.
- Regularly visit district sites to ensure the region’s operations are running smoothly and effectively.
- Maintain the image and reputation of Assupol Life Ltd. in the region.
Job Requirements
To qualify for this Sales Manager vacancy at Assupol Life Ltd., candidates should meet the following educational, certification, and experience criteria:
Formal Education
- Matric (Grade 12) is required.
- A Relevant Qualification recognized by the FSCA.
Technical/Legal Certification
- Regulatory Examination Level 5 (for Representatives) is an advantage.
- Regulatory Examination Level 1 (for Key Individuals) is an advantage.
- A minimum of 30 or 60 credits on NQF Level 2 (depending on date of appointment) or 60 or 120 credits on NQF Level 5 is required.
Experience
- At least 1 year of relevant management experience.
- A minimum of 6 months of insurance industry experience.
- At least 6 months of advice and intermediary experience in category A (Assistance business).
