Sasol Mining’s Portable Skills Training Programme

In a powerful move to drive community development and economic upliftment, Sasol Mining has announced the launch of its Portable Skills Training Programme, a bold initiative aimed at equipping unemployed individuals with practical, lifelong skills that can pave the way to employment, entrepreneurship, and personal growth.

This 12-week training programme will kick off on Tuesday, 1 September 2025, and will be hosted at the Skills Campus of Standerton TVET College. Targeted specifically at unemployed individuals aged 18 and above who are no longer attending school, the programme will run in Sakhile, Standerton Township, and Holmdene.

What is the Portable Skills Training Programme?

The programme offers hands-on, job-ready training in some of South Africa’s most in-demand trades. Through this initiative, participants will gain real-world skills that can be used to secure employment or launch a small business, helping them become self-reliant while uplifting their communities.

Skills on Offer:

  • Welding
  • Plumbing
  • Furniture Making

These skills are not only vital in today’s job market but also provide opportunities for self-employment and sustainable income generation.
