Under administration and claims processing, learners will register new claims and load payments on the system while ensuring proper authorisation. Learners will assess liability, adjust claims where required, and ensure documentation supporting the quantum of the claim is accurate.
The role requires maintaining document diaries on the IMS system, updating reserves in line with reserving policy, and following up on outstanding proof of quantum. Learners will apply judgment when analysing claims exposure and determining the appropriate course of action within delegated authority. Complex or contentious claims must be escalated to the Supervisor.
The position includes updating system notes to reflect the current status of claims, informing underwriting of any gaps in cover or omitted documents, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Learners will also handle customer enquiries in accordance with policy standards.
Under agency and broker liaison functions, learners will negotiate claim settlements where applicable and liaise regularly with agent companies and brokers regarding claim progress. Communication with relevant stakeholders forms part of the responsibility.
The role may also require the performance of ad hoc tasks as assigned by the Line Manager.
