Position Overview:
The role of the Secretary at SPAR is a short-term but crucial position designed to support the Senior Operations Managers and their teams. Key Responsibilities:
As a 4-Month Fixed-Term Secretary, the individual will be tasked with several key duties that are essential to the operational flow at SPAR:
1. Administrative Support:
The primary responsibility of the Secretary will be providing comprehensive administrative support. This will include tasks such as typing, filing, collating minutes, managing office stock control, and handling calls. 2. Data Capturing and Database Maintenance:

3. Liaising with Central Office and Other Departments:
The Secretary will be the link between the KZN Senior Operations Managers and various departments within SPAR’s central office and distribution centers (DC). This requires clear and effective communication skills to ensure all necessary information is relayed and acted upon promptly.
4. Meeting Coordination and Travel Arrangements:
Organizing meetings, functions, and local travel arrangements for the Senior Operations Managers will be an important aspect of the role. Candidates will need to be highly organized and capable of managing multiple schedules simultaneously.
5. Reporting and Communication:
Compiling and distributing reports will form a significant portion of the role. The Secretary will communicate essential information to various internal and external service providers, as well as retailers, ensuring all parties are well-informed.
6. Event Assistance:
From time to time, the Secretary will also be required to assist with offsite DC events. Responsibilities may include handling registrations and other administrative tasks to ensure the event runs smoothly.
