Duties and Responsibilities
As an Aquatics Sport Intern you will:
- Assist/teach intra‑mural physical education lessons (these are classes inside the school)
- Help out with extra‑mural sporting activities (these are sports sessions outside the normal class schedule)
- Specifically focus on aquatics, so a learn‑to‑swim qualification will be a plus
- Be available during school duty times:
• Monday to Friday: 06:00 – 15:30
• Saturday: 06:00 – 12:30
Requirements
You should apply if you:
- Are studying towards an Educational Degree, OR
- Are a qualified graduate completing your PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) through a recognised university or college
- Are hardworking, enthusiastic and enjoy sports, especially aquatics (swimming etc.)
Additional Requirements
To qualify, you must have:
- Valid Police Clearance Certificate
- Valid Sexual Offenders Clearance Certificate
- Having a SACE certificate (either temporary or permanent) is helpful
- A learn‑to‑swim qualification is an advantage
- Previous experience in a school, or in sport at provincial or national level, and any coaching qualifications are also helpful
